They were welcomed by the Dean of the School of Law, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rusniah Ahmad and members of the Faculty, Puan Rohana Abdul Rahman, Dr. Khadijah Mohamed and Dr. Alias bin Azhar.

A video presentation on the vision, mission and aspirations of UUM was shown, by way of introduction to the University.

Incorporated in 1984, UUM is the sixth public university to be set up in Malaysia, with the specific mission of providing a leadership role for management education in the country. Hence its tagline, ‘The Eminent Management University’.

The founding Chairman of YAYASAN TUN ABDUL HAMID, the late Tun Dato’ Seri Hj. Abdul Hamid bin Hj. Omar, was a Pro-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) for many years from 1988 – 2005. So it is only natural that the University be held in fond esteem by the Yayasan.
