children2014

Yet another year has flown by and our Yayasan sponsored children, Siti Maisarah, Halimatul Sa’adiah, Siti Nur Fatihah and Muhammad Irfan Fakhrullah are growing fast and progressing steadily at school.

Maisarah and Halimatul are now 15 and 14 years old respectively– nearly young ladies now, compared to the sweet little girls YTAH Director, Puan Ellina binti Abdul Majid first met at an NGO tea function six years ago.

Fatihah is 12 and Muhammad Irfan, who in 2008 had yet to start kindergarten, is already about to embark Primary 4.

The children are obviously making the most of the opportunities offered at school to the best of their ability.

Their achievements during the past academic year indicated their enthusiasm and zeal for all things school, academic as well as extracurricular.

Maisarah was the proud recipient of the “Pelajar Disiplin Sifar” and “Ketua Keceriaan Kelas” as well as attaining second place in her class Science competition and third place in the Mathematics competition. Halimatul, as usual, was in fine form in sports, winning first place in “galah panjang” as well as being in the winning team in the futsal tournament (Sentul zone). She was also placed second in the school shot putt competition. Academically, Halimatul’s notable achievement was first runner up in the Bahasa Jawi quiz.

Not to be outdone, younger sister Fatihah was awarded the “Anugerah Cemerlang Ujian Penilaian Sekolah Rendah Agama (UPSRA)” for achieving 6As and 2Bs in the Islamic primary school evaluation tests. On the sports front, Fatihah was in the winning team in her school volleyball and her team was also second runner up in the school netball tournament. Like his elder siblings, Muhammad Irfan has also immersed himself in school activities with gusto. He enjoyed participating in the Technology & Communications quiz and also the History quiz, both of which he emerged in second place. For his duties as a resource centre prefect, Irfan was awarded the “Anugerah Khidmat Bakti”. Other activities he participated in included the Living Skills woodwork competition and the school’s junior Red Crescent Malaysia club. Sportswise, he was in the second runner up team of the school football tournament and secured third place in the badminton tournament for his age group.

Well done! All of us at Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid are delighted to share in the joy of our children’s achievements and wish them all the best for the coming academic year.
